Feng shui is an increasingly popular “style” to have at home; however, it seems that the basic principles of feng shui are not being recognised. Although it is believed that there are symbols which could assist in achieving specific goals, the main objective of feng shui is to create a natural space making it feel comfortable and right. Placement of items within the home for feng shui purposes is an ancient art, if a person uses knowledge of this art along with intent; it is believed that they can make changes in their life. Feng shui practitioners would examine a client’s home and taking into consideration what the intended goal is they would suggest symbols to use. There are many symbols related to feng shui, many of which have the same meanings, for example, a tree and a crane both represent longevity.
