The benefits of aromatherapy has been known for many years, however, today we have more advanced knowledge into the safety and benefits of essential oils. Aromatherapy can be used for beauty and also health reasons, unlike medicinal treatments, aromatherapy treats the illness not only the symptoms.
Essential oils are commonly used today in massage, bath also oil burners/vaporisers (among other tools). Care must be taken with the quantity of the oils used for any use of aromatherapy. When using an oil burner filled with water, you should use no more than approximately 8-10 drops of your chosen oil/oils (depending on the depth of the bowl). In massage, it is recommended that you use approximately 9 drops of oil mixed with 20ml of a chosen medium. If the blended oils will be exposed to the skin, you must make sure that there is no allergy towards the chosen oils, if a rash develops you should stop the massage and rinse with warm water and consult a doctor if symptoms persist.
Please read carefully the following key, each letter represents the name of a caution found with the essential oils.
